from – Saltwater Fishkeeping: A Guide for Young Adults and Teens
Prevention of disease is always better and easier than curing disease. The adage of ‘an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure’ is particularly relevant to keeping saltwater fishes. Especially with marine fishes, sooner or later a disease or parasitic infection will happen. The two most commonly seen and prevalent diseases of saltwater fishes are in the very broad categories – parasitic infections and bacterial infections.
